Beacons Softball Experience
OverUnder and West Work were commissioned through a University of Massachusetts Boston house doctor contract to upgrade the existing women’s softball field to the level of the men’s baseball field as part of a Title IX compliance effort. The project includes new dugouts, stands, press box, lighting, and field, along with additional landscape elements to integrate the field with the surrounding campus. A perforated metal scrim wraps the grandstands with etherial imagery of athletes in motion, developing a sense of place and identity for the softball team’s home field and the entrance to athletics.
