Sited drastically in the hills looking towards the pyramids at Giza, this house is intended to be both a permanent residence for its occupant and a guest house for his extended family.
Divided along two axes, the house is functionally arrayed around living and entertainment, and sleeping quarters and primary residence. Several courtyards break down the overall massing of the structure, allowing filtered light into rooms and allowing air to circulate through the house.
Local materials are utilized wherever possible, including luminous sandbrick, locally quarried rock, and indigenous plantings.
