In an effort to harness and enhance the growing cultural, economic, and social life of the city of Haverhill, OverUnder led a large consultant team to explore the viability of a cultural and educational center in the city’s downtown along the Merrimack River. The project sought to connect the Haverhill’s past as a shoe-making center with its present innovative energy.

The feasibility study included site and program analysis, as well as planning for exhibitions, financing, and engineering systems. A concept design effort proposed a building that is part museum, part educational institute, and part performance venue, while at the same time providing a much needed public space that connects the main commercial corridor to the river. The study and visuals further served as crucial support material to secure the site and for fundraising purposes.
