Ryu is a designer involved in architectural and urban projects both locally and internationally. With every project, Ryu leverages his technical knowledge of digital tools and methods in service of creating a more socially and ecologically just world. Most recently, he was a key team member on an urban study for the city of Boston, developing analytical tools for evaluating the impact of residential zoning regulations on housing in the city. He is currently involved in an ongoing master planning effort for the town of Lunenburg, MA, and contributed urban analysis and mapping efforts to the Cambridge Urban Design Guidelines. Architecturally, he has been a designer on a facilities renovation at the University of Massachusetts Boston, a community center for youth and families in Boston’s Mission Hill, a single-family residence on Cape Cod, and an office renovation in the Boston City Hall. Internationally, his work includes planning and design for a large mixed-use urban development in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as well as interior and landscape designs for a villa outside Giza, Egypt.
